17 months old

Hi everyone!! Tyler is now 17 months old- where does the time go! Is it possible that a child can get more precious every passing day? If it is-than we have that child. There is nothing better than the morning hugs and the sloppy kisses we get throughout the day. Tyler has really been having a ball. Papa Bob and Ga-mama took him to see a cow up close and personal at his uncle's house and then going on an Easter egg hunt together. It is sooo cute how he yells for his Papa Bob from over the top of the stairs just to get his attention and hugs on his arm. Sorry mom but I think dad is his favorite. Tyler has also been to the zoo twice. Once with mommy and her friends- where everything was "what's that" and being loved by Amy or should I say "AH-ME" and then again with Daddy and his cousin Brody and his parents. On this trip- daddy taught Tyler how to say Rhino and got to use his wagon for the first time. Tyler has not been at the babysitters this week (rest in peace, Jimmy) so on Monday he had mommy day, Tuesday- Grandma day ( thanks mom for driving all the way up here) Wed- Daddy day and lunch with his other Papa and tomorrow is mommy day- YEAH!! Tyler's language skills are really taking off. He has so many words that I have given up counting them. His favorite is- hello, where's daddy, no and boys (for the dogs). It is so awe-inspiring to hear him talk. I love when he says "Uh -O, mama" even though I know the outcome can not be good. Tyler's swim classes are going well. He is learning how to float on his back. I think the stranger anxiety is coming to a halt. Tyler now loves when people pick him up and love him. Although, he still has days when he is unsure about who is holding him! Well enough bragging about the love of our life!

16 months

1st corn on the cob- YUM

riding on the motorcycle- he loved it!
Looks like somebody watches his daddy play video games
Tyler and Tony playing games together
Watching my movie and having a snack!

Tyler is now 16 months old. Not much has changed since 15 months. Just growing. We got our Easter pictures done today. ( Thank You Grandma for getting those for us) and Lunch ( Thank you grandpa bob for working overtime for that) .We attempted swim class for infant survival. It was very hard on mom! Not sure if we are going to continue doing that. I don't want him to hate the water! Looks like we are going to do this old school and watch his every move and wear a life jacket. Darn Pond! Tyler's new love is Elmo, well melmo as he calls it. We take him everywhere and sleep with him too. We are still waiting for those teeth come in. We can see the whites but they sure are taking their time! Tyler loves to look at himself in the mirror.. oh, he is such a ham- wrinkles up his nose and gives the biggest smile ever! He really does know he is cute.. doesn't help everyone tells him all the time... can't take the kid anywhere! Well enough bragging.. til next time.

25 random things about being a mom

recently i got an email to do 25 random things about being a mom but i thought it was better suited for tyler's blog. so here it is for all that emailed me this...

1. i am fluent in toddler speak. for example... ba- means bath

2. my child is the smartest, most beautiful human being I've ever given birth to... i will feel the same way about consecutive children should we choose to have them.

3. my eyes well up with tears when my son is happy or excited. i am a complete sap about everything now.

4. i now care about iron, protein, and sugar content

5. i don't trust anyone other than myself, husband & few family members with my son. he is the most precious treasure i was given and i would give my life to protect him-oh, but his babysitter is someone i trust also.

6. my son is a mommy's boy. i secretly love this. it makes me smile knowing that i must be doing something right for him to love me this much. i hope it lasts!

7. i do not miss my life before tyler

8. i think of myself as a mom first and everything else next

9. i would love to be a stay at home mom

10. rocking tyler in a chair before bed is something i look foward to everyday

11. i have referred to tony as "daddy" while talking to friends

12. watching time race by, while hoping it could stand still for just a minute.

13. i wish tyler could learn from my mistakes without having to experience them.

14. for some reason when i try to shop for myself- i only come back with things for tyler

15. i love it when he rests his head on my shoulder, it seems like that is what that spot whas made for. i know tony loves this too..

16. i am better at being a mom then i thought i would be but i am worse at being a mom than i thought too

17. i love that my parents adore my son

18. i eat my dinner cold every night that i am not working

19. tyler had horriable colic. he cried for 14 hours straight one day. before my mom got to my house, i was holding him and crying "why do you hate me". funny how that has changed

20. i don't like other moms who make you feel guilty for the choices you make- it's hard enough- don't make it harder

21. before i had tyler, i hated when someone would say "oh, you wouldn't understand because you dont have a kid". now that i do, i refuse to say it. expecially to people who are trying to get pregnant. it is like kicking them while they are down.

22. a crib can hold at least 135 lbs. despite what daddy says.

23. i don't like playing cars or trucks but i do it anyway

24. i secretly like to watch cartoons- tony does too

25. i wish i could kiss that fat little 5 month old baby face one more time!

15 month doctors appt.

Tyler had his 15 month appt. today. So here is a little information to share:

Tyler is 2 feet 8 inches long & weighs 22 lbs. 5 oz. The doctor was a little worried about his weight but says he seems to be doing fine. I know he is only in the 15% but I don't think I am able to get any more food into this kid. He eats every 2 hours. The doctor also started him back up on pepcid. We will see if this helps with his wheezing and broncholitis episodes. She does not want him to have peanut butter or nuts of any kind until he is 3 years old and wants us to buy a potty chair when he is around 18 months old. Yeah right, we'll see how that goes. Tyler finally used his words for the doctor, he said around 10 of them to her. I was surprised because he doesn't like to talk much around other people. He even went to her so she could hold him. Dr. Vargo said that he must not have stranger anxiety to bad.. I just laughed. If she could only see what I have to deal with some days!

15 months old

eating in his high chair
Well another month as past by. I can't believe my baby is 15 months old. This month Tyler had another round of broncholitis that required a night stay in the hospital. He is feeling much better. Tyler has learned some new words.. such as shoe and nana for banana. He has learned where his hair, eyes, nose, mouth, ears and belly are. Belly is his favorite because he gets to lift up his shirt.
Tyler also got to go see Elmo grows up. He loved it.

14 months old

dancing on the table
sleeping on his pull out couch after watching a movie
out in the snow
Hey everyone- Tyler is 14 months old on the 23rd. I am sending this out a little early due to working schedule. Tyler has been doing very well this month after his pneumonia and broncholitis was cleared up. He is constantly asking "What is that" and when the phone rings "who is that". It seems like he is learning a new word often. I believe we are up to 12 words now. It is so nice to hear "yeah" and "no"... makes my life easier not having to guess. He loves to climb up the stairs, giving the dogs kisses & finding his belly button. He is learning how to blow kisses right now! He learns something new everyday that I can't write it all. He loved playing in the snow and being pulled on his sleigh but his favorite time is playing catch with daddy when he is in the bath. Man, can he really throw the ball. He even practices throwing while waiting for daddy to throw it back. Although, he is still very attached to us - it does make us feel very special that he loves us that much. Well gotta run.
